BIANCA ROSSINI

‘I’ve Been Alone’ represents a defining moment in Bianca Rossini’s career, and showcases her evolution as an artist and storyteller. – by cultuurmania

I have followed Brazilian singer Bianca Rossini for years and loved her bossa nova music. She previously released the EPs and albums ‘Apaixonada’, ‘Kiss of Brazil’, ‘Vento do Norte’, ‘Meu Amor’, and ‘Rio Paradise’. However, she lives in Beverly Hills and is a multi-talented artist whose talents span music, acting, writing, and television. As an accomplished TV and film actress, dancer, choreographer, and author of three books, Rossini has carved out a unique space in the entertainment industry. She was also the co-producer and host of the long-running Los Angeles TV talk show ‘The Bianca Rossini Show’. Over the years, Rossini has collaborated with legendary artists such as Jimmy Webb, Hal David, Harvey Mason, Ken Hirsch, Sergio Santos, and Claudio Nucci, showcasing her versatility and ability to transcend genres. Her first full-length English-language album, released yesterday, is a collection of 10 deeply personal songs, written and composed by Bianca herself, that explore themes of betrayal, vulnerability and self-discovery. As she describes it, the album navigates “the beautiful mess of being human”.

‘I’ve Been Alone’ represents a defining moment in Bianca Rossini’s career, and showcases her evolution as an artist and storyteller. The album masterfully weaves raw, intimate lyrics with infectious pop melodies, creating a soundscape that resonates deeply with listeners navigating grief, loneliness and self-discovery. Produced by Rossini alongside acclaimed producer Peter Roberts, the album features performances from talented musicians from around the world. While deeply personal to Rossini, the album’s themes of love, betrayal and resilience speak universally, offering comfort and strength to anyone struggling with the emotional complexities of life. “This album is an exploration of the highs and lows of the human experience,” Rossini explains. “It’s about finding light in the darkness and realizing that, even in our loneliest moments, we are never truly alone. We emerge from this journey stronger, more connected, and ready to embrace the beautiful chaos of life.”

The title track opens, and it’s an exploration of loneliness, betrayal, and the transformative power of self-love. Her songs are soulful, sensual, and full of emotion, and I wonder if she’s singing about her own experiences, because ‘I’ve Been Alone’, ‘I Have Waited Like a Fool’, and ‘Cry, Cry, Cry’ are all about a breakup in a relationship. ‘Do You Remember?’ is also about heartbreak, and the memories that come with it, and you’ll find those on ‘We Made a Promise’. The story of their meeting is told on ‘Greatest Love’, and freedom beckons on ‘Release Me’. And ‘Christmas Night’ is a truthful one.

A beautiful and sensitive album, and I can only write “Good luck Bianca!”.
